Direct Hire-Senior Accountant (TPA-Insurance) (JN -012025-385848)

One of my Insurance clients is seeking a strong Sr Accountant with experience in (TPA) Third party administration within insurance , to join their team! This individual will play a critical role on the team. This position is 100% onsite !

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Third-Party Administrator (TPA) specializing in insurance operations to join our dynamic team. This dual-role position combines advanced accounting expertise with third-party administration responsibilities, ensuring seamless financial oversight and compliance across insurance-related transactions and operations.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of insurance accounting principles, experience in managing TPA functions, and strong analytical skills to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting related to insurance operations.

* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and statutory insurance accounting standards.

* Reconcile insurance premium accounts, claims reserves, and trust accounts.

* Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.

* Assist with audits, including preparation of schedules, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

* Ensure timely and accurate processing of premium billings, claims payments, and other financial transactions.

* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Responsibilities:

* Manage relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and other third-party service providers.

* Oversee claims processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).

* Monitor premium collections, policy renewals, and endorsements.

* Implement and enforce proper internal controls for TPA operations to reduce financial and operational risks.

* Respond to inquiries from clients, brokers, and insurance carriers regarding financial transactions and claims status.

* Maintain accurate and organized records of all TPA activities and transactions.

* Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations governing insurance administration and accounting.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.

* Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in insurance accounting or TPA operations.

* Strong understanding of GAAP and insurance regulatory accounting standards.

* Proficiency in accounting software and financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).

* Experience with claims processing systems and insurance policy management platforms is a plus.

* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

* High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with TPA software systems and reporting tools.

* Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as NAIC, DOI, and other insurance authorities.

* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
